I received this remote with my G3 65 TV. After 9 months the power button stuck along with other keys. I tried all the recommended solutions and nothing worked. I used about 2 hours per week so I rate the durability of the remote at ZERO. There curser function is too weird to try more than once.

This is undoubtedly the worst Remote design Ive used. Im a retired professional video engineer for NBC. This is Junk design work. The buttons are poorly labelled and difficult to read if youre older than 18 years. The choices of icons are just plain stupid. Example: Sources button is labelled with what looks like a mouse with a tail although closer examination under magnification shows its a power cord with a plug. Really dumb text saying Sources would have been way better. Also the button placement and labeling is terrible. The Up or Down Volume buttons are adjacent to the Go to Home Screen button so its easy to hit Home instead of Volume Down. And because of the really offensively bad user interface design theres no way to quickly go back to where you were before you hit Home by mistake.

This new remote was a major upgrade from the remote that came with my TV set. It has more functions on it some of which are very useful in terms of an upgrade to the remote versus what was originally on the TV and because of the newer technology there are a few more items that I can do now with this remote on this TV That I couldnt do before. A really good product and I recommended strongly because it was worth the money.

The magic part of this remote needs to disappear. The designer probably never tried to use it. The pointer is overly sensitive and eratic. The black on black makes it hard to see. The directional arrows work sometimes and sometimes you use the back arrow. The volume control and channel charger buttons look identical not clearly marked. What a mess.

Very clunky to use. No way to pause/rewind/restart video. The pointer wheel is very unreliable. The Pointer is very hard to control.

Im just mad all these negative reviews made the magic remote stop coming with the tv at all. Instead its a not magic remote. See they listened to you and now certain functions of this tv such as ai sound arent a thing unless I buy this dumb remote that now doesnt come with the tv anymore because of you people.

This remote has lasted us two years already and we just got a warning for the batteries going bad. Its held up with three kids including a toddler who loves to throw it around. It has all the standard features you need plus the scrolling feature for searching the web.

I really like my OLED 77C1aub smart tv. I absolutely hate the remote. Roller ball and magic wand stink. I have multiple LG remotes for 3-LG smart TVs that Ive owned/own. Two of these TVs have the roller ball/magic wand function. I use the third older one without these ridiculous features although I must use the ones with these distracting functions as the older one doesnt have a home button that takes you to the preloaded streaming services. So I use the newer remote to gain access to the streaming services then use the older remote to work everything else.

This remote is my least favorite of every remote I have ever used. A scroll wheel for selection? This leads to scrolling instead of selecting half the time. Also Im not using my TV to surf the web the cursor is unnecessary. I also share the frustrations from all of the other low star reviews. LG should offer free standard replacement remotes as an option we paid enough for the TVs.

I hate it. For us its terrible. The priorities for assigning function buttons are wrong. For a start there is no cc button mute buttom button for TV Guide or button to cancel previous command backtrack. All those functions we routinely use. There are buttons well never use such as voice recognition.
Yes I know how to access the above functions in other ways but we need quick access. And some screens that pop up such as the one directing to terms of service can only be removed by turning the TV off and on again.
Im looking for a universal remote with the needed functions.

This is the WORST remote Ive ever owned The mouse ball tracker is awful God forbid you try to search for a show in a hurry you fly all over the screen with the stupid pointer. Why for the love of all things would you have a track ball on a remote? I hate this TV so much because of this idiotic remote Wish I could return the whole thing I will never buy any other LG product on general principal because of this nonsense. I need a remote that will work with my TV and am afraid this is the only one. LG Im so disappointed.

This remote sucks if you have long fingernails. Did LG not product test this with women??? Pressing the wheel is almost impossible. There doesnt seem to be any real reason for it to be recessed. Just an annoying design flaw

Came with LG model oled65c1aub from my local membership store. From day one this remote has been annoying to use. With repeated pairings and new batteries the problem persists. To use the left side of the pad you have to press very hard. The right side is normal but still a hard press for a remote. There is no magic in these remotes my remote from another LG TV just ONE year previous to this model is not compatible. It will pair but will constantly pop up a window saying that the remote is not compatible with the model TV its still more pleasant to use. The best way to describe the MR23GN remote in a nutshell is: It Sucks. LG should consider making a good remote to distribute with their TVs one that works with all models in a five year period one to rule them all. The fact you have to buy another piece for fifty dollars is shameless of LG. Do a recall and replace all of them with something else or you will lose money on sales because you were too cheap to provide and spend money on the most critical part of your product its interface with the customer.

I will not purchase another LG OLED TV until this remote is redesigned. I have purchased several of the magic units. They break easily. If you dont get exactly the right one you will not get all of the features since your remote is not compatible with your TV. The start button is not in balance with the unit.

My center button scroll wheel broke and fell down into the remote housing after a little over one year. Now the remote is useless because I cannot select anything. Its probably the most important button on the remote as it gets used to confirm every selection when using apps and menus. Only a weak plastic axel holds this button in place which broke during normal use. It initially sunk down into the remote at which point I could still select things and scroll. Then after a few days the axel completely snapped and the wheel fell all the way down into the remote housing leaving a gaping hole and no way to open apps or menus. What a terribly thought out remote design With all the buttons on this remote there should be a secondary OK/Enter button. You can buy replacement for $50 but this same poor design might end up in another axel failure and now youre out a remote again. Unbelievable

HATE this remote. I too am considering returning a great tv simply because of this stupid remote control. Id much rather use my cable remote with a light and features that arent so cumbersome to access. Random menus appear on the screen when I dont even hit any buttons

I am sure the wheel is held by a flimsy plastic axel. By the way I do not have anyone but myself at home. No Kids teenagers or anyone else.
For $50.00 it should last for many years. My TV is an OLED55C1AUB
